Taste of the Town is back November 5 th at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center! Established in 1984, this is the Grand Strand’s original food festival and ultimate food lover’s paradise. Not only will you find samples from dozens of the area’s finest restaurants, but there will also be live entertainment, silent auction, and beer garden. You will buy an admission ticket to enter the event, then food and drinks are available for 1-4 tickets that you can buy for $1 each. This is hands down my favorite food event of the year. It’s a great way to see…

October is one of my favorite months here along the sunny Grand Strand. Summer heat has begun to subside along with the humidity, and it’s an all around great time to be outdoors—especially with little ones! This month also offers a ton of free festivals and events, and I’ve included five of my kiddos’ favorite October festivals below. We also have a ton of neat activities scheduled for Halloween, as well, and we’ll share those in a coming post! 1. Brookgreen Gardens Harvest Home Weekend Festival This two-day celebration of the fall season…

The sale lasts from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall of the convention center and draws thousands both…

Great music, dancing and fun were once a regular occurrence at Charlie’s Place in Myrtle Beach. Even in the puzzling days of Jim Crow-era segregation, both whites and blacks enjoyed each other’s company and reveled in the unifying sounds of jazz, Motown and beach music while they danced away. Today, an annual event is held to celebrate the music and the culture that thrived in the area in bygone days. The fourth annual Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival returns October 4-6, 2019 on historic Carver Street in Myrtle Beach! Charlie’s Place was an…

From taking in beautiful art and natural beauty, to learning a new skill or watching amazing performers, there are many ways to stretch your mind in Myrtle Beach this fall. Here are just a few: Franklin G. Burroughs - Simeon B. Chapin Art…

October is one of my favorite months of the year here in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It must be some other people’s favorite as well, because the month is full of fun, outdoor festivals made even more enjoyable by the warm (but not hot) temperatures and decreased humidity. One festival I generally like to catch each fall is the Little River ShrimpFest. While the festival is celebrating their 15th year along the historic Little River waterfront, you hear about it somewhat less often than the huge Little River Blue Crab Festival. Unlike Blue…

Saturday, October 19, 2019, will mark the 40th year that Loris, South Carolina, has hosted the ever-popular Loris Bog-Off Festival. The festival, sponsored by the Loris Chamber of Commerce, happens on the third Saturday in October every year in downtown Loris. While the fun, family-friendly event initially began as a chicken bog cooking competition, it has transformed into a huge celebration over the past four decades. The thousands of attendees that go now get to experience an entire day packed with entertainment, vendors, food, and fun for…

This family-friendly event features a variety of musical entertainment throughout the day, children’s activities and hundreds of vendors. It all starts off with the parade at 10 a.m. The parade usually lasts around an hour and has a Grand Marshall, antique tractors and cars, local…
