The Myrtle Beach area has 60 miles of beautiful white sandy beaches, the amazing Atlantic Ocean, natural Carolina pine woodlands, estuaries, rivers, lakes, ponds, urban settings, entertainment settings, southern country settings with mossy oaks, historic marinas, and little country townships that are great for photographers. Even the novice photographer or those wanting portraits of a great beach vacation will easily find multiple places to take family or group photos for that special keepsake suitable for framing.

Great places for photography are found in the historic fishing villages of Murrells Inlet as well as Little River. Murrells Inlet not only has a marina filled with boats but fabulous views of the marsh as well as a boardwalk known as the "Marsh Walk" lined with legendary seafood restaurants.

Not far from the MarshWalk is Brookgreen Gardens, touted as one of the ten natural wonders of South Carolina. Brookgreen has hundreds of acres of flower gardens, shrubs, moss-draped oaks, and internationally-renowned statuary by famous sculptors. This is a fantastic place for any shutterbug to enjoy. Across from Brookgreen Gardens is Huntington Beach State Park featuring Atalaya, a historic Moorish-style castle, and acres of beautiful natural beach.

As you head further North there is Myrtle Beach State Park with a grand old pier and beachfront for photography.

The Boardwalk, in downtown Myrtle Beach, is another key place for photography, with its SkyWheel and a carnival-like atmosphere, and is a local favorite place to stroll and catch some live entertainment all summer long.

No trip to the beach is complete without having your picture taken in old-time clothing as a southern gentleman or southern belle, or in Wild West cowboy themes. Enjoy a fun trip to Old Tyme Portraits by Treadway located at Barefoot Landing.

Choose the perfect place for your lodging and enjoy all the Myrtle Beach area has to offer for incredible, timeless photography!
