Elite Airways, the Portland, Maine-based regional carrier that ended its nonstop seasonal flights between Albany and Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Sept. 30, expects to resume them in the spring, a spokeswoman said Thursday.

"To the best of my knowledge, that is the plan," said spokeswoman Rebecca Emery. She said that she didn't have a start date — Elite launched service this year on April 5 — but that the carrier had been pleased with the market response in Albany.

Myrtle Beach is a popular golf destination for Capital Region residents. Elite operates a fleet of 50-seat and 70-seat Canadair regional jets.
