Myrtle Beach Arts Activities for Your Kids This Spring
A Colorful Collection of Arts Activities
Little hands and hearts can connect through art to create beautiful things, and Myrtle Beach offers a plentiful palette of arts activities. Here are some ideas of what to do and what’s coming up in bloom this spring on the beach.
Myrtle Beach Art Museum
3100 South Ocean Blvd., Myrtle Beach
Myrtlebeachartmuseum.org
The Myrtle Beach Art Museum is a haven for the arts – for all ages! For the kiddos, there are KidsArt programs on one Saturday each month through April, a time to create inspired art projects in the studio for ages 5-7 and 8-12. There are also Mommy & Me, and Daddies Too classes for wee ones ages 3 and 4, a combo reading and art project event, and TAP (Teen Art Program) once a month through April to inspire teens through art history and new media exploration.
Our Kids Create
522 Broadway Street Ste. C., Myrtle Beach
This hybrid childcare drop-off venue/art studio was ultimately built to motivate kids’ creativity in a safe, fun environment. The studio’s Caterpillar Curriculum involves a daily schedule of hands-on activities that introduce children to different career paths. Each day, after the introduction of that day’s new career, a DIY activity will follow. Hands-on activities are customized to their age and ability.
Studio 43*19 Playground
4811 US Highway 17 Bypass, Suite 4, Myrtle Beach
This creative Myrtle Beach playground/art studio offers kids’ (and adults’) classes and workshops Monday through Friday, plus art socials, kids clubs, and space for private parties. Classes include Mommy & Me for toddlers and Art Hangouts for mixed elementary school-aged children on Mondays, kids sewing classes on Tuesdays, after-school art classes for elementary and third grade up on Wednesdays, studio art for middle and high schoolers on Thursdays, and after-school art on Fridays.
Painting with a Twist
850 Jason Blvd., Myrtle Beach
This art studio may be known for its adult painting classes paired with a glass of wine, but there are also fun-filled kids’ painting classes scheduled in between on varying Saturdays each month. Check out their schedule online.
Wine & Design
1620 Farrow Parkway, Myrtle Beach
Yes, wine is in the name of this art studio (and in the hands of grown-ups while they paint), but Wine & Design also offers customized Art Buzz Kids painting party events for your children and their friends, which always includes a take-home painting.
AR Workshop Myrtle Beach
4999 Carolina Forest Blvd., Ste. 7, Myrtle Beach
If you want to use your hands to make a wood project with your choice of designs and paints, sign up for a Family Fun Workshop held on select Saturdays. In the summer, AR Workshop also holds a Youth Summer Art Camp, a hands-on crafting experience, starting weekly in June.
Harry the Potter
2507 Forestbrook Road, Myrtle Beach
This family-friendly pottery studio invites artists of all ages to create their own magic here! Choose from more than 1,000 unfinished pottery pieces, make use of their wide variety of underglazes and paints using stencils and sponges, and, once you’ve finished your masterpiece, the studio will apply a clear overglaze and fire it in their studio. Your piece will be ready for pickup in seven days or less.
