Fun, Affordable Family-Friendly Holiday Events at The Beach
The holidays are a wonderful time to live or visit the Grand Strand and there is no shortage of fun things to do with your entire family! From sparkling light shows and petting zoos to parades and Winter Wonderlands – you’re sure to find something to do each night of the week. Here’s a quick peek at some of the fun (and affordable) Christmas events going on around Myrtle Beach this holiday season.
Winter Wonderland at The Beach
205 9th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, SC
For the first time ever the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place will be converted into a Winter Wonderland this Christmas season. They’ll have ice skating, live entertainment, twinkling light displays and plenty of stops along the holiday path for photo opps. The cost is $7/adult and $5/child. Kids 4 and under get in free. Skates can be rented for $20 or bring your own for just $15. The special event will be open daily from Friday, November 26 through Sunday, January 2, 2022.

The Great Christmas Light Show
North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex
Drive through The Great Christmas Light Show set to your favorite holiday tunes in North Myrtle Beach this Christmas season! There are more than 2 million lights throughout the two-mile drive. Don’t forget to stop in Santa’s Village for pictures with the Elf on the Shelf and Santa and Mrs. Claus. They also have a free petting zoo, yummy treats, a fire pit for s’mores and a Rockin’ Christmas Tree that has a show every 30 minutes. Admission is $15/car when Santa’s Village is closed or $20/car when Santa’s Village is open. The Great Christmas Light Show is open from November 26 through December 30, 2021.
Intracoastal Christmas Regatta
Little River Inlet
The 37th annual Intracoastal Christmas Regatta will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, November 27 starting from the Little River Inlet traveling south to Dock Holiday’s Marina. Watch the beautifully decorated boats float on down the waterway with their festive lights and décor. The event is free to the public but donations for Toys for Tots or pet supplies for the Humane Society are encouraged.

Nights of A Thousand Candles
Brookgreen Gardens
Thousands of hand-lit candles and sparkling lights create the dazzling setting for Nights of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens. This popular event is great for all ages and features amazing lights strewn from the enormous live oaks and hand-lit candles near the statues. They also have several areas with live entertainment each evening including performances from local high schools. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are $25/adult; $12/child ages 4-12 for members and $30/adult and $15/child for non-members. This exciting annual event is held from 4-9 p.m. Friday, November 26-Sunday, November 28 and every Thursday through Sunday from December 2-January 2, 2022.

A Very Broadway Christmas Parade
Broadway at the Beach
Broadway at the Beach will host its annual Christmas Parade at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 4. Watch as local businesses from Broadway and beyond throw out candy, prizes and more from their lovely floats. Admission is free and guests are encouraged to peruse the sidewalk sales later that day and enjoy a fireworks extravaganza at 8 p.m.

Holiday Celebrations at The Market Common
4017 Deville St., Myrtle Beach, SC
The Market Common is buzzing with excitement this holiday season and you’re invited to all the fun. First up is their annual Tree Lighting Ceremony with Santa’s arrival and special performances from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, November 20 in front of Grand 14 Movie Theater. Take advantage of their FREE Holiday Carriage rides from 4-7 p.m. November 28; December 5, 12, 19 and 26, 2021.

Lighting of the Landing
Barefoot Landing
Everyone’s favorite weatherman, Ed Piotrowski will host the Lighting of the Landing at Barefoot Landing Saturday, November 20. Stick around for a live DJ, face painting, visits with your favorite characters, live entertainment and a dazzling fireworks show after the tree is lit. The fun begins at 2 p.m. and is free for all to attend.
Surfside Beach Christmas Parade
Ocean Boulevard/Surfside Drive
The annual Surfside Beach Christmas Parade is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, December 11 along Ocean Boulevard and Surfside Drive. You’ll see many of your favorite local businesses and even a few of your favorite Christmas characters. Line up early for the best views and don’t forget to wave to Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Conway Celebration of Lights
3rd Avenue, Conway, SC
The annual Celebration of Lights will take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday beginning December 4. The beautiful lights are sure to get you in the holiday spirit! Stop in for hot chocolate, marshmallow roasting and s’mores at 200 Laurel Street. Santa will be around on Fridays and Saturdays for visits for your little ones.
