As a mother of two little ones, finding the best deals is important to me. Whenever I travel, I do my research to ensure that I can maximize the amount of money our family has to spend on the truly important things — fun activities, exciting outings and unique eateries that make for memorable family moments.

One great way to save on your vacation is about making the most of your budget when it comes to your hotel stay. Of course, you want to make sure you get nice accommodations with everything your family needs, but there are also a ton of little tricks for getting great deals along the way.

Here’s some tips on how to find the best Myrtle Beach hotel deals, based on real-life strategies I’ve used to keep our trips enjoyable without breaking the bank.

1. Book Directly with Hotels

There's many ways to find great prices, but booking directly through a hotel’s website often yields the best deals. For example, many resorts will offer extras like a free night or complimentary breakfast for the kids, just for going directly to them. Always check the hotel’s website for exclusive offers before visit online travel agency sites.

2. Sign Up for Newsletters

If you're getting ready to book, but want to ensure a great price, you should consider joining mailing lists for several Myrtle Beach hotels and travel websites. Hotel groups like Vacation Myrtle Beach and Brittain Resorts often send out special promotions to their many hotels across the Grand Strand. Sometimes specific resorts will offer significant saving — up to 25% or more — just for signing up for their mailing list.

3. Leverage Social Media

Following Myrtle Beach hotels, hotel companies and local groups on social media can pay off. Hotels will often offer short-term flash sales through their Facebook or Instagram pages, allowing you to book and save up to 30-40% on our stay. These quick offers can make a big difference.

Another great way to use your socials is to source advice from locals on the best deals and places to go. Large local groups like Myrtle Beach - Live Like a Local, Myrtle Vegas or Myrtle Beach Events can help you uncover hidden gems and unadvertised deals. Don't be afraid to jump in and ask for help. Locals are happy to give their opinions on the best hotels, restaurant deals, happy hours and which attractions are worth the spend.

4. Take Advantage of Loyalty Programs

Joining hotel loyalty programs can be highly beneficial. We’re part of the Hilton Honors program and have accumulated points for free stays and room upgrades. All the national chains have these programs as do many local hotel groups. Check out options like the VMB Card, Club Seadside Loyalty Program or Brittain Rewards to save on more than just your room.  Even if you’re not a frequent traveler, the perks you get with tis type of program can still add up during your stay.

5. Explore Package Deals & Offers

Vacation packages that bundle accommodations with activities are a great value. You can find many resorts that offer free nights, free meal and access on-site amenities like spas and activities as part of your vacation package. This is something many places are more than willing to give away to have you book directly with them.

Looking to save on waterpark tickets? You can book spots like Crown Reef Beach Resort or Landmark Resort which have larger waterparks on site or check out our Top 10 Hotels with Waterparks.

You'll find other resorts that bundle passes to attractions like Myrtle Waves waterpark, the SkyWheel, Miniature Golf or watersports activities like dolphin cruises and banana boat rides. You can even get great discounts on shows like Pirate's Voyage, Medieval Times, Legends in Concert and all the top tickets in town as part of your package.

6. Visit During the Off-Season

Of course, this isn't an option for everyone as I know some folks LOVE their summer vacations, but one of the best ways to save is just to be a little patient and come to Myrtle Beach at an off-peak time. Of course we're known for a great summer beach fun, but what some people don't know is that The Beach is goregous all year round.

Even adjusting your trip dates a little to earlier in spring (April - May) or later in Summer / Fall (Sept. - Oct.) can have a significant impact on your overall rates for hotels and can lead to substantial savings. Hotels often reduce their rates during these slightly quieter times to attract visitors.

The good news: these are amazing times to visit as the weather is still VERY nice, the water remains warm and you can still enjoy everything the Grand Strand has to offer.
