Established in 1997, the Myrtle Beach Marathon is a Boston qualifier and racing enthusiasts from around the United States brave the chilly air with ten thousand of their closest friends at Myrtle Beach's biggest race event of the year. Myrtle Beach Marathon racers enjoy spending time with the sport they truly love - running! Marathon organizers give back by supporting area charities and schools including Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of South Carolina, the Coastal South Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross and Horry County Schools.
Competitors love the fast, flat course that is perfect for setting personal records on and qualifying times for races such as the Boston Marathon. The event hosts both a full- and half-marathon that takes runners through downtown Myrtle Beach, into The Market Common and down along Ocean Boulevard before ending at TicketReturn.com Field, home of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
