Enter your catch in the 2010 Grand Strand Fishing Rodeo... caught from pier, surf, inlet or deep sea... for monthly decals, shoulder patches, and prizes totaling over thousands of dollars in cash and merchandise. A grand prize of $2,000 is awarded at the end of the rodeo.

The 2010 Grand Strand Fishing Rodeo Awards Ceremony will culminate with the drawing of one name from the "Grand Prize Winners Box." Anglers must be present to win the Grand Prize. Chamber staff and members of the Fishing Rodeo Committee are ineligible to compete for the Grand Prize.

 

2010 Spring King Mackerel Tournament Winners

One hundred thirty-six anglers competed for cash prizes in the 30th annual Spring Pier King Mackerel Tournament, which took place June 11-13 on local fishing piers: Apache Pier, Cherry Grove Pier, Myrtle Beach State Park Pier, Second Avenue Pier, Springmaid Pier, Surfside Pier and The Pier at Garden City.

Third Place:
Cheryl McCormick of Rock Hill, S.C.
Fourth Place:
Brady Tate of Shelby, N.C.
Fifth Place:

Notable information:

1. 157 teams (total 314 participants)
2. Notable ages of participants: 1 years old to 87 years young
3. SPOT RUN at Pier at Garden City, the children were so excited
4. Rain threatened, but it stayed away well after the awards were done..hooray
5. Again this year all piers participated in this event from Cherry Grove Pier to Surfside Beach Pier. Big thanks to Myrtle Beach State Park, we could not have this wonderful event "close" with a
meal and awards without Shelter 1..the park rangers are AWESOME!! Special thanks to George Gibble of Springmaid Pier (for food) and the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (for sponsorship).
