Rashomon (1950) has been described as "a riveting psychological thriller that investigates the nature of truth and the meaning of justice." In this film, four people testify with contradictory versions of a man's murder and the assault of his wife. Following the film, Anna Oldfield, associate professor of English, and Christian Smith, assistant professor of English, lead a discussion on the film's cinematic style and historical significance. The film will be screened on November 1st at 5 pm in The Coastal Theater of the Lib Jackson Studio Union at Coastal Carolina University.
