For the 600 residents that call the town of Aynor home, its people are the best-kept secrets in the Myrtle Beach area . That is what the town’s website proclaims, and it’s a statement we happen to agree with. In its early history, Aynor acted as a railroad terminus from Conway in the 1900s before its incorporation in 1913. Then, the town enjoyed a stable tobacco market, as well as a brickyard, cotton gin and several mills. Fall is in the air, which means the weather is just perfect for a little run. Well, it’s actually a 13.1-mile run! The Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon returns to the Myrtle Beach area this fall. The race takes place on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, but events will be happening throughout the entire weekend. In addition to the main event, the Grand Strand will play host to a health and fitness expo, the Coastal 5K race and the popular 1.5-mile Doggie Dash.
