A rainy day in Myrtle Beach is not a day wasted anymore.  With so many attractions along the Grand Strand, our visitors will find something do in either rain or shine!  With tons of exhibits and events, the Children's Museum of South Carolina is the perfect rainy day spot to keep the entire family busy!

The museum located at 2501 North Kings Kighway originally opened in 1994 and has since experienced considerable growth and expansion.

There are twenty fun and educational exhibits to explore while at the museum.  Children learn the names of different parts on a boat and boating safety rules exploring the USS Kids-A-Float exhibit.  Then, they can make predictions and sort objects at the Sink or Swim table.
At the Kidz Medical Center and Dr. Molars Dental Clinic, children can learn about bones, muscles, teeth, and other parts of the human body while their imaginations come to life as they pretend to be a doctor, dentist, nurse, X-Ray technician, or a patient!  The newest exhibit in 2012 is the Turtle Travels exhibit.  Your children will be able to walk in the footsteps of a turtle and experience what a turtle’s life is like thanks to a ‘turtle cam’ and life-sized board game where children come eye to eye with LIVE turtles.  Everyone who visits this new exhibit will learn firsthand how moving slow and steady really does win the race!

From Tales for Tots to Smart Arts, no one will want to miss the fun events going on every week at the Children’s Museum of South Carolina.  Come out every Monday for ‘Special Guest Monday,’ where members of the community come in to share their talents with museum attendees.  On Tuesdays, story time has never been as much fun as it is with ‘Tales for Tots,’ and every Wednesday is ‘Kitchen Science’ day, where playing with your food is allowed! And on Thursdays, watch just how creative your child can get with ‘Smart Arts’—a craft day like you have never seen before!
So whether you’re looking to get out of the sun or find something to do on a rainy day, bring the whole family out to the Children's Museum of South Carolina and create a day filled with learning, fun, and memories!
