Looking to knock out a number of exciting adventures in one stop? Head on over to Huntington Beach State Park.

This local treasure has lots to offer. The beaches are very quiet and peaceful, and the park is one of the best places in the Myrtle Beach area to spot loggerhead sea turtles. In late May, the first nest of these beautiful creatures was found, indicating that nesting season had officially begun. Hatching season runs through the end of October.

Another animal that stands out at Huntington Beach is the birds. This park is one of the prime spots on the East Coast for bird watching, as more than 300 different species of these winged beauties have been recorded.

Finally, a visit to Huntington Beach isn't complete without a tour of the Atalaya Castle. This Moorish-style structure was the winter home of sculptor Anna Hyatt Huntington and her husband, Archer, who left the park as their legacy.
