When most people think of soup, they think of the ultimate comfort food on a cold, dreary winter day, or when they’re feeling a little bit under the weather. But the great folks at the Sea Captain’s House will make you crave soup, even on a sunny day.

The eatery’s delectable She-Crab soup is creamy, hearty and delicious. And fortunately for us, the chef has even been so kind as to share the recipe. It’s best enjoyed with a basket of Sea Captain’s phenomenal hush puppies, which make for the perfect afternoon treat.

And really, how about that view? It’s funny to think that this home-turned restaurant was actually set to be torn down in 1962 and replaced with a high-rise motel. Fortunately for us, delays in the construction led to the owners opening up the house as a restaurant in order to make some extra money. That motel was never constructed. And for that, we’re thankful.
