Returning for a second year to the Myrtle Beach area, The Native Sons Salt Games is bringing excitement, competition, teamwork, competition, fun, competition, the beach and competition front and center this weekend.
Oh, and in case we didn’t make it almost annoying clear, competition is a big part of this two-day event, running June 14 and June 15.
There is a pro-am surfing tournament, a pro volleyball competition, a paddleboarding race and a kids’ race.
But that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
Plenty of great entertainment will be found, including tug-of-war, live music, a half pipe for open skating and a hot dog eating contest.
We don’t see ourselves trying to wolf down a bunch of franks in record time, but hats off to all who have the stomach for it!
The Salt Games are free and fun for the whole family.
It’s just another reason to spend some quality time at the beach this summer. Just heed your mother’s advice and never forget the sunblock!
