If you’re like us, there is nothing more deliciously southern than great barbecue. And here in the Myrtle Beach area, it’s about time to once again celebrate everything ribs, brisket and chicken.
The 10th Annual Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival returns this Labor Day weekend to the Grand Strand on Sept. 4 and Sept. 5, 2015. The festival is offering $9,500 in cash prizes to the winners of the official barbecue championship of South Carolina. Admission is free to this Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) sanctioned event.
The end-of-summer extravaganza will take place Labor Day Weekend from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, and from 12 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5. The festival will be held at the Horry-Georgetown Technical College Conference Center at 950 Crabtree Lane, near Grand Park at The Market Common.
Keeping with the festival’s mission of being an affordable event, attendees can sample delicious barbecue from competing teams on Saturday, beginning at 12 p.m., by purchasing a $10 wristband while supplies last. Children 8 and under can sample for free. New for 2015 are smoked ribs on the menu, along with the fan favorite barbecue sandwiches and combos, available for purchase from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, and from 12 to 6 p.m. on Saturday. If barbecue doesn’t tempt your taste buds, other festival food will be available for purchase during the entire event.
So, as always, make sure and come hungry and enjoy all there is to see and taste at the 10th Annual Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival.
