Crabbing in the Myrtle Beach Area

Yes, that’s right—you can actually try your hand at crabbing in Myrtle Beach a la “Deadliest Catch,” minus the frigid temperatures and well, life-threatening surroundings.

For those well-versed in the art of crabbing, a great place to go is Garden City Beach Pier. If not, I’d recommend scheduling a time to visit the pier at Myrtle Beach State Park. There, a park ranger can walk you through how to identify some of the common crabs caught off the pier, as well as introduce you to the rules and regulations associated with certain crabs you might catch. The State Park also has the equipment you’ll need to get your feet wet—hopefully only figuratively speaking!
