One of the things we love about summer is the opportunity to sit outdoors on a perfect evening with friends and family, and listen to some great music.

There is never a shortage of that during the summer months, and one of our favorite places to take in some soothing sounds is in North Myrtle Beach.

In 2015, the Sounds of Summer Concert Series returns to the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex’s Sandhills Bank Amphitheater.

Held the third Friday of each month, every concert features a different band playing family-friendly music.

On June 19, relive the sounds of Motown with Sound Express and The Legacy. Beach music is the order of the day on July 17, when Gary Lowder and Smokin’ Hot take the stage.

The sweet grooves of R&B can be heard on Aug. 21 with Painted Man. Finally, it’s time to rock with Nantucket on Sept. 18.

Each concert runs from 7 to 9 p.m. and admission is free.

So, round up the family, grab a beach chair or blanket and head up to North Myrtle Beach to enjoy the Sounds of Summer. It’s just one of the many reasons we love this season so much!
