One of the Myrtle Beach area's most popular holiday displays is back and bigger than ever this year.

Brookgreen Gardens' Nights of a Thousand Candles has been expanded to nine nights this year due to popular demand. The dates are: Dec. 5 through Dec. 7; Dec. 12 through Dec. 14; and Dec. 19 through Dec. 21.

The gardens come to life this holiday season amid the soft glow of over 5,500 hand-lit candles and countless sparkling lights from 3 to 10 p.m. each night.

We can't think of anything more festive during this magical time of year than walking along the garden's paths with a warm, delicious cup of cider while marveling at this magical display.

Brookgreen Gardens also offers a few tips for making the most out of your Nights of a Thousand Candles experience:

  • Carpool with family and friends
  • Come on a Thursday night to avoid weekend crowds
  • Dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes.
  • A limited number of adult and child strollers are available at no charge on a first-come, first-serve basis.

So, take it from us; don't let the holidays end before you've had the chance to check out this wonderful display.
