National Historic Landmark and longtime-favorite Myrtle Beach area attraction, Brookgreen Gardens, has been nominated for an online contest that could feature them as the ‘8th Wonder of the World.'

VirtualTourist, a worldwide travel community, is sponsoring the contest that highlights landmarks from across the globe. The winner will be featured in a national TV segment, and we're hoping that winner will be Brookgreen Gardens! Those that have visited the gardens-once home to former rice plantations-know that they play host to the largest outdoor collection of American sculpture art in the world along with a nature and historical center and Lowcountry zoo.

Have you spent any time at this fantastic Myrtle Beach area attraction? If so, please consider casting a vote in VirtualTourist's online contest. Voting is open to everyone, and voters are able to cast one ballot daily through September 30 at www.virtualtourist.com/8thwonder. One of the best things about the contest is registration is not required and voting only takes a second! And after you vote, we'd love to hear about your experience at this Murrells Inlet treasure!
