Who:   Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC)

What:  In an effort to examine the state of the U.S. travel and tourism industry, Dean will testify before a U.S. Senate committee as part of a hearing titled, "The State of U.S. Travel and Tourism: Industry Efforts to Attract 100 Million Visitors Annually." Dean will be joined by representatives from BrandUSA, the U.S. Travel Association and various federal agencies. The hearing will focus on the promotional efforts to grow tourism in the context of the 2012 National Travel and Tourism Strategy and will provide a venue to discuss the private sector's perspective on the economic needs and benefits of increasing travel and tourism to the United States. In addition to his role as president and CEO of the MBACC, Dean also serves on the board of directors of the United States Travel and Tourism Advisory Board, U.S. Travel Association and Destination Marketing Association International.
