MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Let the Games begin!

The Salt Games return to Myrtle Beach on Sunday, July 21, and promise to be a fun and entertaining follow-up to the Myrtle Beach 75th anniversaries being celebrated on July 20.

Sponsored by Native Sons, The Salt Games are an all-day beach event meant to entice tourists and show off local talent and what life in Myrtle Beach is all about.

There's also plenty of competition involved. Following an opening Yoga Sit-In in Plyler Park in downtown Myrtle Beach, there will be a paddleboard race, kids' dolphin run, two-man pro-beach volleyball tournament, tug-o-war, a bikini contest and the Crossfit Up Dog Competition by Core Fitness.

All of this leads up to the featured event - The Lifeguard Games.  It's an epic battle featuring lifesavers from all six beach services duking it out in a relay race and one-on-one drills.  Interspersed within the competition are fire dancers, a moonlight concert series, a half-pipe for all to enjoy and much more.

All proceeds from The Salt Games will benefit The Surfrider Foundation of the Grand Strand. For more information, go to www.thesaltgames.com
