MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome the Sun Belt Conference and its many fans to the Grand Strand.

With the addition of Coastal Carolina University in September, the Sun Belt Conference expands their reach in the Southeast, where three other member schools are located in North Carolina and Georgia.

"We're putting our best foot forward in welcoming the Sun Belt Conference to the Myrtle Beach Area, one of the country's top family friendly beach destinations," said Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. "With 60 miles of beautiful, sandy beaches and close proximity to Coastal Carolina University, the Myrtle Beach area offers Sun Belt fans a vacation destination while cheering on their team away from home."

In addition, the switch to the Sun Belt Conference will allow the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce to develop marketing efforts in six states, including: Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Louisiana, New Mexico and Texas.
