MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Personal finance website The Simple Dollar has chosen Myrtle Beach as one of the 10 most affordable cities to retire in the U.S.

In their analysis, The Simple Dollar team analyzed over 200 popular retirement communities based on ratings and reviews from “Forbes,” “U.S. News and World Report” and others.

The median home price, average rent of a one-bedroom apartment and a cost of living index were measured in creating the list, along with climate, access to cultural amenities and natural resources.

Myrtle Beach is listed as being a popular retirement community that caters to active seniors
