MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce held its 2015 annual meeting on April 7 at the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel in Myrtle Beach. Nearly four hundred attended the annual update, luncheon and awards presentation. Keynote speaker Ross Shafer, a six-time Emmy award-winning comedian, writer and TV host of such shows as "The Match Game" and "Day's End" on ABC and "The Late Show" on FOX, spoke from 9 to 10 a.m.

Shafer is also the author of the business books "Nobody Moved Your Cheese!," "Are You Relevant?," "Grab More Market Share" and "Absolutely Necessary: How to Keep Yourself in High Demand."

Following his keynote address and the meeting's educational breakout sessions, attendees enjoyed an awards luncheon and ceremony where the following awards were presented to businesses and individuals:

Ashby Ward Pioneer of the Year - Jack Lazarus, Wild, Water and Wheels
Citizen of the Year - Woodrow "Woody" Ford III, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina
Hospitality Employee of the Year - Frankie Manning, Caribbean Resort and Villas
Chamber Volunteer of the Year - Daniel Liberatore and Kathy Foxworth Garrell, Chick-fil-A Myrtle Beach Drive Thru and Katie's Project, respectively
Chamber Ambassador of the Year - Al Kipple, Three Ring Focus
