With the merger of US Airways and American Airlines expected to be completed Dec. 9, Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, issued the following statement:
"The merger of two successful legacy carriers like US Airways and American Airlines could mean long-term benefits for both our airport and the Myrtle Beach area as a whole. In the future, the merger could open up new markets and new routes. For now, visitors will have broader access getting to and from the Grand Strand."
