The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce will host a destination assessment study conducted by Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI).  The DMAI destination survey will be held on January 19 through January 20, 2016 at the Horry Georgetown Technical College, Grand Strand Campus Conference Center, at 950 Crabtree Lane.

The goal of the survey is to determine gaps, key issues, and opportunities for potential products, amenities, programming, and experiences that would benefit the tourism industry in the Myrtle Beach area.  The study will focus on the Grand Strand destination overall, and not any particular area or city within the Grand Strand. Numerous community and government leaders, as well as various businesses and stakeholders throughout the Grand Strand, have been invited to participate.

Once complete, the assessment will be used by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, community, and government leaders to assist area in understanding its current position in the competitive tourism industry, as well as to prepare the community for activating the necessary transformational strategies for future tourism success.

While this event is not open to the public, there will be opportunities for media interviews.  For additional information, please contact the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce at 843-626-7444.
