MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The popular FOX reality show "American Idol" will bring its bus tour auditions to the Myrtle Beach area on July 17, 2014.

Hopefuls can get their chance to sing for producers starting at 9 a.m. and running until 6 p.m. The location will be determined at a later date.

Now in its 13th season, "American Idol" has been a ratings juggernaut for the FOX Network throughout its lifespan, consistently ranking among the top 10 shows each television season.

"We are absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to roll out the welcome mat for ‘American Idol' here in the Myrtle Beach area," said Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. "This landmark singing competition has been a part of our national popular culture for more than a decade, and we are excited about the possibility that the next American Idol could be found right here along the Grand Strand."

"American Idol" will crown its season 13 winner on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 on FOX.
